Overview

Health center professionals must navigate and manage uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity as they operate amid a health care environment that is continuously changing and increasingly complex. Join NACHC and ACU for this full-day pre-conference session exploring how leaders can fulfill the mission while raising questions about organizational structures for ensuring optimal health for both patients and the workforce.

The morning session will define and explore Adaptive Leadership as a framework for managing major organizational change and engage participants in practical activities to strengthen their leadership knowledge, skills, and abilities. The afternoon session applies these adaptive leadership principles to a critical operational challenge: building effective onboarding programs. Participants will learn how strong onboarding improves retention, productivity, and employee satisfaction while using the ACU Onboarding Checklist as a practical framework. Through a health center case study and guided planning time, participants will learn best practices and begin creating customized onboarding plans that address both the technical and adaptive challenges within their organizations.

This session is designed for health center staff at all levels who lead change and are involved in onboarding, including HR, operations, clinical and department leaders, supervisors, and executive team members. Teams are encouraged to attend together, but individual staff members are welcome as well.
